Use an onion to naturally accelerate the healing time of minor wounds!

If you're someone who likes the idea of Polysporin but doesn't want to use it for whatever reason, know that you can help accelerate the healing of minor wounds with the skin of an onion!

I came across this remedy thanks to my mom! I was staying with my parents during a family vacation and I had cut my finger with a knife (it was bleeding quite a bit but it wasn't deep enough to need stitches). I asked my mother if she had a band aid, and then she told me she would give me something better, onion skin! I told her that I didn't have time for her crazy talk. I didn't think she was making much sense until she kept insisting and got her way (as all mothers do lol) she gave me the onion skin, I put it on the wound then placed a band aid over it. Much to my surprise, by the end of the day (I had it on about 12 hrs) It had sealed up and almost completely healed! I was so weirded out by it since I thought it was ridiculous to begin with! I was pretty impressed and thought I would share :)

Btw, pretty sure I don't need to mention this, but it was a minor cut... I didn't need stitches, If you think you need stitches, do not substitute a doctor visit for onion skin...

What you'll need:

- 1 Onion
- Knife to cut your onion
- Band aids

Just cut your onion in half and remove the hard shelled skin off of it. You will see that once you peel a couple of the onion layers back, they will have a thin skin attached to them that you can peel off.

Go ahead and peel off a piece of it, cut to the desired size, and place on your minor wound. Proceed to wrap a band aid around it and let the healing begin!
